The Story of Noblessner

In 1912 Russian Tsar decided to establish military harbour in Tallinn as a strategically and geografically in a good location. The whole infrastructure were developed with factories, ports and railway systems.

In 1913 St.Petersburg company Noblessner Shipyard was established, impulse to build a shipyard become from a large national order of submarines. Shipyard and building design was developed by known engineering company CHRISTIAN&NIELSEN. The whole area was built during few years. The shipyard was originally named to Peter's harbour and existed under the name till the end of World War II. Throughout the war harbour did not receive any major damage and most of the historical buildings are still preserved.

During last years the owner of the area BLRT Grupp decided to develop and restructurize the old industrial area into atractive area with a yacht marina and cultural spot near the centre of Tallinn. The contracts were signed with SAILINVEST Llc to develop the marina and SA Lootsi Koda to bring a new life into old factory with a series of cultural events. The old historical name NOBLESSNER was brought into the life again.
